Battery capacity
I am looking to buy new shorty batteries to replace my old 4200mah turniqy batteries. I run 6.5T motor with 150A esc, with savox servo in 2wd buggy.
My car uses about 1500mah and reduces to 7.75v in 5 min heat race. That is from 4200mah which is 8.44v fully charged. which has 65c rating. The batteries im looking is 3250mah 90c. my old 4200mah batteries has 273amp (4.2x65c) new battery I'm looking at has 297amp. (3.3x90c) will 3250mah batteries be enough for 5 min heats? Wouldnt that pushing it bit too close ? |

Your final voltage will be slightly lower in theory, maybe 7.6V.
Whether this will even be noticeable is open to debate. Other than that, there should be no issues at all. FWIW, the quoted discharge rates are pretty much an irrelevance. You can't use that much power, and its doubtful if the battery can actually produce that much grunt. Oh, over charging batteries is a) cheating and b) not very sensible, they could quite possibly blow up. Get your charger checked out and change your settings. |

Make sure you balance charge, if voltage is still exceeding 4.2v per cell I.e 8.44v then your charger is potentially dangerous.
As Matt says the output is probably irrelevant unless your doing speed runs, you said you are using 1500mah per race this will be similar from the other battery but it should be lighter and more punchy so you should feel a difference |

Lower mah is a lighter lipo, if your not bothered about weight I would be looking at the SMC lipo from MB models.
