I don't mind the charges as long as there consitent
They are consistant - as it depends on th status of your account. When my friend was round buying my phone recently she was doing it by gift in front of me, and she was going to be charged £8 for sending £230.

However, whenever I send money, I never get charged. Perhaps its because I have had several thousands go through it, or that I am double verified by Paypal (set up verification and a second verification when you have had £5K through your account) so who knows. But I never get charged for it and you say you haven't yet your wife does, so must be to do with account status perhaps?

If you're capable of doing big business then you should be setting up your own online payment system and avoiding paypal altogether!
