Default Cat SX vs Cat SX2

Was hoping someone could quickly summarise what the main differences would be between these two?

I run mainly 2WD and was thinking about getting a cost effective 4WD which would be a good blast every now and then - and my reason for Schumacher is I like to keep with the same brand as the 2WD (cougar SV2).

Cheers in advance

I was in the same boat recently owning my cougar and fancying a bit of 4wd action, was a toss up between a b44.1 and an sx3 but chose the sx3 to stay with one brand. Sooooo glad I did, i adore using it and barely touch the cougar at the moment because it's so much fun! Can't really comment on the difference between cats tho but I can definitely recommend the cat route

Cat sx2 all the way! Uses stick lipos easier and cheaper, really simple to setup and tune right, belt driven is great! Diffs need rebuilding every now and again, everything should be cleaned regularly and kept tight. Shocks are really good, good dowtravel and springs. Carbon fibre works really well, looks great too! Overall I think a great car! Also newer design than the SX thanks.

Hi,
I'm going to offer an alternative point of view to the last post.
I think if you can find a good condition SX this has a few advantages over the SX2.
The SX had alloy steering arms, alloy pivot blocks etc whereas the SX2 had plastic parts.
The SX has the small bore shocks which are favoured by many over the SX2 big bores.
There were a couple of useful upgrades on the SX2 such as the larger diameter front wishbone mount screws (the M3 easily bend when crashed) and the steel idler gears but these are easily added to the SX and you probably find many used cars already have these upgrades.
Just my opinion and some food for thought.
Oh, and if you get one and you want any advice or parts let me know :-)
