Default Brushless motor rotation??

Is it possible to change the way a brushless sensored motor rotate .......from anticlockwise to clockwise?? if yes would this damage the motor? Thanx

You can probably do it on the ESC. With a setting change. (Depends on the ESC of course)

If it's not sensored you can just flip a couple of the cables, instead of A-A B-B C-C do A-A B-C and C-B that'll work (not with sensored tho)

I believe you can rotate the sensors though I have never actually tried it. Move the sensors past the nearest pole to the same angle but the other side of the pole should theoretically change the direction. Effectively move the sensor from 5 minutes to the hour to 5 minutes past.

Otherwise the safest way is to reverse the direction using the ESC programming if yours has this function. Sometimes this can only be done with the program card that corresponds to your ESC.

Oh, quick question, why do you want to reverse it?
Is it to fix an issue?

Just working on a project... The motor mount I did find that would fit in my project it seats the motor on the left side of chassis instead of right ...so I was looking at options.

Rotating the sensor board won't reverse the direction.

You can reverse the direction by swapping one of the phase wires, but you also then need to swap a couple of the sensor wires around to match...and once you've done that, you do need to set the sensor/timing angle correctly as well. All in all, not actually that easy!

Best bet electrically is an ESC that can swap motor directions.

That'll just make the motor run badly if everything else is set up *right*.

It's really just for servos which run the opposite direction, not to muck around with ESC settings.

(I've tried it. Shortly before flipping the diff.)
