Default Cougar KC Rear shock position

All

Just building a KC after nigh on 30 years out of the hobby, there is a lot of option for tuning this car but the thing that has got me intrigued is the rear shock position

manual shows building it up in the main part of the manual with shocks at the rear of the car, but it allows for the shocks to be at the front of the rear wishbones as well,

I'm gonna be running the gearbox at position 2 so would there be a best shock position, front or back, and can anyone explain the advantages/dis-advantages of both set-ups,

ta in advance

Not run a KC so can't comment about the gearbox and motor positions, but general rule of thumb is:

Shocks to rear = low grip (to get a bit more weight over the rear wheels)

Shocks to front = high grip

i assume if you are going p2 then you are high grip so want shocks on the front. shocks on the rear are for low grip p4 generally. even at York on low grip sports hall we are runing p4 with shocks on the front now for better handling. if you put ball studs on both sides its fairly quick to swap so you can test back to back which you prefer
