Default Lipo questions

Hi all.

I have just picked up a Team Associated 1/8th E buggy with Tekin RX8 ESC and Tekin 2050kv motor.
I normally run 1/10th and have a pile of 2S shorty and saddle packs. Can is use these to run my 1/8th in a series configuration?

Thanks in advance

You'll need to match capacities, discharge rates and age (to make sure one isn't knackered and one nearly new)

Other than that, you'll be good to go.

Default series wired lipo's

I assume then, that 1/8th electrics, in particular Tekin RX8 ESC's can operate between 3S and 6S and hence between 11.1v and 22.2v??

Yeah, my RX8 will run anything between 2 and 6s.

Issue with mismatched batteries is the batteries themselves. If they have different discharge profiles you can end up with one discharging faster than the other, the slower discharging battery will be getting all sorts of charge/discharge cycles and might not like it.

Plus, your car won't be as fast as it could be.

Check the motor will do 6s if you go down that route.
