Default o ring in sx2/sx3/cougar diffs

Guys
Does anybody run the o ring on the thrust race end of the schuy diff used in sx2/sx3/cougar?
ive just rebuilt mine an noticed even when greased the o ring gives extra resistance to diff action.
Is it supposed to do this i wonder?

Thanks

spud

Think its a case of personal preference Spud, I run it in my Cougar with no problems, but at the same time, as Ian said, a lot of guys don't use it. So it's whatever suits yourself really. Think it may be more of an issue with the 4WD.

I never use them as they make the dif a bit stur , if u remove it the diff is more free . and you actualy dont need it as I drive a lot in dirt and clay and so and the presure baering stays clean .
