Both good choices and are probably among the cars used at most clubs but always worth going to your local tracks to see what the fast guys use.
I have a T3 12, T4 14 and T4 15 most parts interchange of sorts to keep you going as do a lot of the yokomo parts between years.
Best advice I can give is don't start out too fast worry about getting the handling right then increase speed from there.
A set up system is expensive but takes a lot of the guess work out so look for a good used 1

I ran a bd7 2014 (currently on eBay) up until recently and it's a fantastic car. Very adjustable and competitive. Parts can be had reasonably cheaply and they are quite robust.
When you have a crash it doesn't knock all the settings out which is what you want.

Both decent cars, probably the best 2 options for used TCs.

The Xray is a bit stronger, requires less maintanance (Yokomo shocks and diffs leak a bit) and is easier to get working outdoors, but will cost you a bit more when you do need spares.

Check out what people are running at your local club, as being able to steal setups and borrow spares makes all the difference.
