Default Supastox, what pinion

Hi,

Could someone recommend what pinion to start with at Gloucester club.

I have 21.5t with 2s battery and a spur gear of 70t. I also have a HW Ezrun 60A speed control, so no sensor lead.

Thanks

I'm hoping to try my 21.5 motor for the first time next Friday. I am expecting something about 30T on the pinion, but see what the others who have run it are actually using. On a separate note though, I am very interested to hear how your car runs without the sensors on that motor. I have yet to run anything with that many turns sensorless and I'm hoping it works well - much much cheaper ESC options.

I am also looking to use my new 21.5 motor next week. I really reckon 27 pinion on 72 spur. Motor is very rough at low rpm but gets smoother as the revs increase.

I'm using a 29 pinion with a 70 spur (using a Hobbywing 2.1t and a Supastox). To be honest, some of us have done some testing and there appears to be minimal difference between running 26 through to 30.

Thanks for the replies, I ended up running a 26 and 27 tooth pinion, both worked well and felt very similar.

The Hobbywing Ezrun 60A didn't work to well, it was hesitant pulling off and accelerating from low revs. I had hoped it would work as it was a cheap speedo in my box. I may play around with it but I can see me having to put my 1S back in.
