I use velcro's own branded sticky backed, but it still lifts from shells and chassis eventually, (it's generally better on the shell) I end up rolling the tack off the back and just super gluing it, maybe I shouldn't buy sticky backed and save myself a job!

I also have genuine Velcro. I warm it on a heater or heat gun (but don’t get it too hot) before applying. Mine is called ‘heavy duty’ and it’s 50mm wide I think, I then trim it to what I need. I also wipe off the surface with methylated spirits (the purple stuff) first.

I had an similar issue with some heavy duty velcro bought from B and Q. I could never get it to stay on the side of my cougar laydown chassis. I spoke with Steve Haskins (penguin RC bodies) who suggested wiping the surface down with aftershave before applying and you know what...... It works. It's never came off since. I didn't realise how important it was to de grease the area first.

I used velcro own branded stuff from screwfix. I use brake cleaner on the chassis to clean prior to using and it's perfect.
