Hi randy, i run the rs pro with the redline 6.5t in my b44.1.
My car feels a little tame and not as punchy as id like.
Im running 100 timing advance on dual mode. Geared 21/81.

Is it safe to run sensored only with a bit of turbo, i dont know what else i can do, other buggies seem to pull away slightly and my friends 2wd with 10.5t is virtually the same speed....

You could try one of the lower stock profiles to give you an indication of acceleration and top end, but make sure you set the limiter to around 90, start with the 10' stock profile. Once you have worked out which gives you the right acceleration and speed, then you can maybe adapt one of your programmable profiles in a sensored only setting.

Also, use v223 of the software.

I wasnt aware of any stock profiles, i also read that sensored only isnt too good on mod motors. Ill look into that

I like "blinky" mode a lot which is 0 boost/turbo in sensored only mode with 10 degrees on the motor.

Turbo is best used on a track that has an abnormally long/large infield to straight ratio.

In other words if 90% of the lap time is spent on the infield turbo will do NO good at all. If however the infield feels fine and you're simply looking for some more rip down the straight, turbo is ok.

Start in small amounts and keep the ramp rate low, 1.0

Thats why you start very low, you don't need to add much.

Running a Tekin rs in my Durango 410 I was running it with a 5.5 but don't think the speedo could handle the motor tried a 10.5 with boost etc on Sunday it went pretty good but just not fast enough so what's a good compromise maybe a 7.5????

I no people say don't run a rs in 4wd but can't really afford a new speedo so will a 7.5 be ok??

Do you have a fan anywhere in your car? I've run a 6.5 in my 410 for the last 2 or 3 years and not had any issues with heat really.

I have a fan pointing at the solder posts. I know the speedo doesn't come with a fan, but I'd rather have a fan in there and no issues than try and run it without a fan.

I can take some pictures of mine if required, I think there are some pictures on here already somewhere.

Yeah it's just the rs I have. The 10.5 was pretty good yesterday just lacked a little oomph saying that it was only a clubman speed passion fixed timing etc.

Had boost timing etc set to max

What problem are you having, are you running a voltage booster?

My Asus transformer prime has usb host control I'm sure most the new tablets and phones coming this year will have it too due to the new operating system. I'm pretty sure the new HTC's have it too.

Does this meen its time for me to get hotwire on it, I nearly sold it for a netbook and I really dont want to

Pretty please, would be epic and not masses of work with a couple good programmers.

Default rs timing/boost

Hi, I am running a tekin rs in my dex210 with an lrp x12 9.5 and its great to drive but I am lacking speed on the main straight, I dont want to swap out for another motor as I love how this drives on the rest of the track. This is my set up: 87t spur 24t pinion, ESC punch, brakes etc set to 100% and its running the stock firmware as I dont yet have a hotwire.

My question is, what settings do I change to make it quicker on the straight as I have no previous experience with changing timing or boost and could do with a starting point. If possible I would like the change to not effect how the car is on the infield.

Please let me know if more information is needed

Thanks

Well, if you can make it over to COBRA on Sunday, I can upgrade your RS to the current firmware and even install a setup on it for you.
