I voted other, because none are hard core mags, the british ones may have articles on race meet's or builds but most is aimed at non-racers. The American mags always seems full of adverts and the odd useful article.

The "flow" of the articles is hard to follow sometimes and while the photography is beautiful, its always marred by this bonkers layout and bad font. (IMHO)

Funny you should say that, bought latest issue today and thought I couldn't concentrate on the text. For racers, it now gives you the setup sheet for worksop winner. Nice touch. Racer is some adverts with a 2 page review of a car that came out last year. The reviews are really not in depth.

I really dont see the point in wasteing money on a magazine now we have that thing called the internet! Who wants to spend money on a magazine that tells you about stuff that happened 5 months previous!?

prior to last weekends round 3, round one and two were in the mags, way less than 5 months. r3 from last sunday had been written/ submitted and will go to print monday for the next edition, thats as fast as i can get it in.

Haha, Im sure there being done asap Mark its just the fact that people want info instant nowadays and its what theyve got used to. With oople and red rc etc info about setups, results, videos, pictures etc are often available online within very little time. Impossible for a magazine to compete with that! Especially when you have to pay £4 plus for a magazine. Unfortunate really.

I think the magazines are a waste of paper as the Internet has everything on it. The reviews don't find the cars bad points in fear they upset the distributor of which ever car is being reviewed.

Having been out of 1/10 racing for over 25 years I really liked reading RRCi and Radio Control Racer. But maybe once I've decided what car to get and been to a few meets the mags may have run their course. Loving this site btw!

I still think there is a place for magazines - whilst Oople is great it is still generally only a forum and would personally be interested in a magazine aimed at racers with proper reviews, tips, race reports etc. at a racer level. Both magazines are very similar and aimed at bashers rather than racers and perhaps there is a gap in the market for one of the magazines to move away from the mainstream.

think that comment just about sums up how short sited racers can be about their hobby, back in the 90's we forgot all about beginners and made the sport all about top end racing.....worked well as it was timed with the arrival of touring cars, offroad died a death as did many clubs

I don't buy the mags, but I find nothing in them for me, It's all on oople.BUT Bashers and beginners love them, thats why the race reports are as they are.So I think the mags do serve a point and still need to be there, Ask the industry how many bashing and rtr kits they sell world wide compared to competition kits?
With luck some bashers find a club, get the bug and our hobby grows a bit

I have all four issues of TQ magazine if you want to buy them
I liked that mag, lots of practical hands on tips .
I buy Racer mag sometimes , say for a long train journey etc
Once done with it I like to leave it on the train ,hoping that will inspire others
