Default Separate 7.4v supply to RX??

Assuming that i have suitably rated rx and servo, is it possible/sensible to wire a servo power lead directly to the 2s lipo to give 7.4v, rather than the 6v BEC that I get from the ESC?
Thank you.
Tim

No.
The battery gives out about 8.4v fully charged, you might fry your servo.

Unless its a high voltage servo.
Then yes, you can.

Find the maximum supply voltage the servo is rated to, then get an external BEC which is rated at that level. (Don't forget lots of amps too.)
Then connect the BEC to the battery. And the servo power supply leads (and the control lead to the RX of course).

Or buy a faster servo.

(Or get an ESC with adjustable BEC, thats what i have on my 8th scale ESC)

You could also experiment with longer or shorter servo arms, trade off between torque and speed. Or mucking around with other bits of the steering geometry.

Or settings on the TX/RX to improve/reduce signal delay.

Or just get a better servo, polishing a turd is possible, but not generally as effective as doing it properly.

Running a rs550mgc-hv direct from the 2s lipo in my b-max4. The only problem so far was frying an rx, but that could be also caused by bad quality (trackstar ts3t). Now with the servo supplyed by the 2s and the rx by the esc`s bec everything works fine.
