Default What version YZ10 are these?

I got 2 YZ10s off ebay and I'm pretty sure one of them is a Pavadis but not sure what the other one is. They've been fiddled with over the years so not sure what is original and what isn't.

Neither car has a one way which is a surprise. I've restored an Optima Mid and an Egress but I think these are going to be the biggest challange as genuine parts are so rare.

I think the bottom one is a pavadis as it has 7 battery slots cut out. The top one looked to be a 95 going by the offset screws on the top deck. Although that top deck is a fibre-lyte version and not original.

It's quite difficult to tell as there was quite a few different versions.

I got one a few weeks back and I'm none the wiser to what it is.

I bought Ryans other 2 cars I was wondering who'd bought these off him! Apparently those alloy wheels were custom made for him although they do look familiar.

Ken, the first two pics look like a yz10 '94 chassis but with the rear shock brace as you get in the '95. The last two pics are pavadis '95

Top car looks like a '94, with Fibrelyte top deck and battery hold downs, and some homebrew shock mount adaption?
Lower pic does look to be a Pavidis for sure.

Wow the linked Pavadis is something special. Thanks for the MRT link. I would like those wheel discs on mine.

Personally I am not keen on the alloy wheels from my lot. When I do the rebuild I won't be sticking to all genuine parts. I haven't with the others I've done (an Optima Mid and an Egress) and they still look good to me.

. I am disappointed neither car has a TSC. The shell I would like either a Masami copy or 94 box art.

What size screws are used in the chassis for these? I would like to replace some of the more worn ones.

Also, will any MR4 parts fit? Looking at a couple of rebuild projects it looks like they've used MR4 Front C hubs?

Mostly m3, except from the gold screws under the chassis. They are like rc10 goldpan ones. You can find them on ebay

Can anyone tell me what size balls are in the diffs and is it possible to get balls other than yoke specific?

I have bought MR4 C hubs to see if they will fit anyway. I bought plastic ones first and if they fit i would like some blue alloy ones. I aso want to see if i can fit alternate rear hubs too.

I picked up another YZ10 off ebay. No pics as its already in bits but the one with the snapped upper deck on Ebay recently. Has the one way centre gear. I would like to see if i can cobble together a slipper clutch. I was thinking of getting an RC10 slipper assembly and layshaft and the YZ10 layshaft and getting a custom layshaft made up. A mate is a machinest and should be able to make one. He makes parts for a couple of the F1 teams so would like to know how much a machined motor mount would cost in some weird lightweight metal.

3/32" diff ball

1/16" thrust balls

Try Yeah racing alloy front knuckle arm for 4TCSD series (SD-006V2BU)

The TCS slipper sets are hard to come by, some ppl have tried with b4 slipper.

Ask bigjeepz on his forum...he did something similar for the kyosho optima mid.

The motor mount is magnesium based. A complex design so may need CAD "reverse-engineering"

YZ-10s are great cars - have fun re-building them, will you race/run one of them?

Here's my 93 WCS Masami Tribute car;

I will be rebuilding all three cars and keeping one of them. I will be using fibre lyte carbon parts, b44.1 shocks, lunsford turnbuckles and will probably put alloy front and rear hubs and steering knuckles. I would like to fit MX4 hubs to the rear. I will get JC Wheels too. Pink dished and black 6 spokes. Might run the one I keep but only lightly.

Eddscott; I hope no one minds me reviving this old post but I ab rebuilding 4x yokomos are the moment.
2x yz10 and 2x works 93. Thinking the yz10 will be 1x pavadis, 1x box art and the 93's will be a box art and not sure about the other.

I'm wondering if you managed to source alloy front and rear hubs, do mx4 ones fit?

Il post some pictures soon, Z
