The instructions do show this (albeit not so clearly).

I knew i had the flat side out for a reason lol but i went back to double check and the instructions show the pin closer to the bearing side than the wheel and the bevel clears the outer bearing race , also more of a direct fit to wheel with flat side out less play and less chance of stripping wheel hex.

Thanks Bender as that is the way I had the hex, the post advising to have the pin visible on the outside confused me a bit.
I have just replaced the standard roll pins with some duratrax 2mm spring roll pins in the front and the rear, absolutely fantastic as you dont have to worry about them falling out and the same as the B4 to get out |

Good idea with the roll pins!
Whilst I see the benefit in making the car compatible with Ae/Losi rims, having the pins drop out when you take the rims off is a pain

definately, 10 in a packet which is the best $3 I have spent
if you do it though you need to slightly close them up with pliers so they fit, with the front pins I did it a bit more than the rears so they are easier to push out of the hexes I tried 25wt oil in the rear shocks with the number 5 pistons and it was too soft so went to 30wt rear and 35wt front and feels much better |
