Thanks for a good night
Thanks to everyone for making us feel welcome at our first meeting.
My son Ben really enjoyed it, it was his first time racing. Sorry if he got in anyone's way. I had a mixed bag, first time racing indoors after 20 years and first time running the car (just got it second hand). Had reasonable pace, between 15-17sec laps. Just couldn't get a heat or final where I got to the end without something happening. Think I need a complete set of new ball joint plastics. Thanks to any one who helped get them back on. Very sorry to the owner of the car I hit towards the end of the straight near the end of the final. Sounded like something broke. I just didn't see the car. Hope to be down again soon. |

Glad you enjoyed your racing Andy, it was nice to see Ben go home with a big beaming smile on his face.
See you both soon Peter

Andy, for your B44 I would use some RPM Long Shank Heavy Duty Rod Ends, such as these here
http://www.jespares.com/electric-mod...tegory_id=1294 They will not pop off quite as easily as the standard AE ones. Although having said that, I raced most of the B final on Friday with only one rear camber link in, as it got bashed off Good to hear that both you and your son enjoyed the night

Thanks for the reply. I notice they do long and short ones. The ones on the car don't look that long, is it definately the long shank ones I need.
My rear top link came off once and my steering arms twice, in seperate heats. Thanks |

The long rod ends are quite a bit longer than the standard ones but by screwing the turnbuckle right into them to maintain the same overall length you will stiffen the rod end. The standard ones have quite a bit of flexing when connected.

Cheers for the advice
Got some rpm rod ends. Also while I was shopping got myself a anti roll bar kit. Quite a few people seen to recommend them, so thought it was worth a blast. |
