Default Micro Off Road Series, Sponsored by www.xfactory.co.uk *Round 3 Chat*

With round 3 only 11 days away, anyone who hasn't entered you can do so via www.dmsresults.co.uk Last round we had 14 drivers, which is a great number for such a small scene!

Someone needs to beat Darren this next round of he will wrap up the series with a round to go!

Any suggestions on how you would like the track? Fast and flowing, slow and technical? Jumpy or flat? Alsoim thinking of putting our big free standing corner table top up

Doors open at 9am racing starts at 10.30 and we aim to finish at 3.30-4.00.

Tyre rules are open except no mini pins due to the carpet also being used for tourers on other nights. Ill update first post this with info

Less than a week to go and once again the grids are looking decent

Got the grid on the booking in form and also about 5-6 club members coming down.

Wycombe have Transponders available to people without their own, so come on down

Round 3 of the winter series Sponsored by www.X-factory.co.uk got underway with another good turnout for such a niche market.

The track proved to be very challenging with drivers actually saying it was faster to be slow. (Which makes no sense to me and maybe why I struggled?)

After the 4 rounds of timed qualifying once again Darren Boyle was on top, (again). John Barnes claimed 2nd place, with Gary Jordan only 5 seconds behind in 3rd and Jay Thorpe in 4th just another few seconds behind Gary. Top JNR was Daniel Andrews with a very impressive 6th place only missing out on the A final by a lap. (But he was 2 whole laps ahead of his dad, Mark Andrews!)

‘D’ Final
Mike Weir cleared up with 3 wins out of 3 to claim the win, Brothers Tom and Ben Kirkham did very well and both improving throughout the whole, getting better and faster with every run.

‘D’ Final
1st Mike Weir – Losi Mini8
2nd Tom Kirkham – Losi Mini8
3rd Ben Kirkham – Losi Mini8

‘C’ Final
The ‘C’ Final went all the way to the 3rd final to be sorted and it was so close between the groups that the person leading going into the final hadn’t actually won either of the previous finals. The final was a real belter and Mark Andrews and Colin Kirkham both traded the lead of the race (and the overall finals position) multiple times and it all came down to the last lap in the end with Mark taking the win by 3 seconds, Tied on Points it went down to who’s win was fastest and with that Colin took the ‘C’ Final. Tony Stark finished a lap behind and 3rd in final overall with 3 straight 3rd’s and Craig Homer DNF’D.

‘C’ Final
1st Colin Kirkham – Losi Mini8
2nd Mark Andrews – Losi Mini8
3rd Tony Stark – Losi Mini8
4th Craig Homer – LRP SWB Shark

‘B’ Final
Top JNR driver Daniel Andrews won both the first finals, with Sam Dimelow, Andy Evans and Gary Batchelor finishing both finals in their respective order. With the 3rd final there was a win for Sam and a 3rd for Gary but no change to the overall final positions.

‘B’ Final
1st Daniel Andrews – Losi Mini8
2nd Sam Dimelow – Losi Mini8
3rd Andy Evans – Losi Mini8
4th Gary Batchelor – Losi Mini8

‘A’ Final
With Darren on Pole again anyone could have been mistaken into thinking that the race would be the same as the previous 2 rounds. The first final Darren won, but only by a mere 5 seconds over John Boyle. The 2nd final however John came to the good and won the final with Darren finishing 3rd place and Gary Jordan taking 2nd. Jay Thorpe, proving that the LRP LWB Shark is still competitive finished on the same lap as Gary Jordan. The 3rd final was back to normal running order and Darren took the win of race, Finals and the Overall Series. Gary Jordan once again did a great drive and finished 2nd place with a string of great laps. Jay Thorpe taking a great 3rd and John letting the pressure getting to him, sweated and cursed his way to 4th place.

‘A’ Final
1st Darren Boyle – Losi Mini8
2nd John Barnes – Losi Mini8
3rd Gary Jordan – Losi Mini8
4th Jay Thorpe – LRP LWB Shark

That sums up round 3 and I hope my reports have got better with each round. Was a great turnout and I enjoyed the company.  May have a slight problem with the 4th Round so I will be contacting everyone in the very near future.
