Yeah - the thought regarding dynamic balancing crossed my mind but came to the same conclusion as you. It's a good effort Ben, and nice welding too.

There is a reason why full size tyre balancers don't work on this principle.
warped give ben some credit here, i think he's done a top job, blancing a wheel on his balancer WILL make a diference to the car, if the wheel is out of balance staticaly when that wheel is spun up there is more chance of that wheel being excessivly out of balance at speed,

ben.................... be proud mate many young lads would/could not do owt like that

Hey, well done for doing this. It WILL make a difference, but obviously not as much as a dynamic balancer. BUT, you have to start somewhere, and this is looks nicely made. Use it, see how much difference it makes and think about how you can improve it. Then at some point later make the mk2 version.

Keep up the innovations!

I'm sure if Ben goes and talks to his dad he will tell him that static balancing and dynamic are different, but will do a similar job and lets be honest on a RC car you'll never tell difference between static or dynamic, but then who's going to spend god knows how many grand on a dynamic balancer for a RC car, having tried it i can say sod the critics Ben it doe's make a difference,i worked in a tire depot for years, and ill still buy it from you.

dynamic balancing is better than static balancing, but static balancing is better than cock all, good work there young man..... You could add a vertical pointer to take the guess work out of where the exact top of the wheel is, but really, all you are doing is polishing a product.

BenSpeed products (can I claim intellectual property on that now?)

Well it isn't really static balancing to be honest, i have used a static balancer many time's,a static balancer is laid flat on the ground and has a small spirit level in the middle of it no turning or spinning of the wheel is done at all,you use weights on the rim to bring the bubble to the middle thats static balancing, what Ben is doing in mimicking a dynamic balancer, as you spin it the heavy point will always stop at the bottom of the rim, if you hold the device in your hand once you think your close it will stop shaking in your hand if you have it close,
