Tony - Go to YouTube and type in RudeCar with no caps (one word) - if you like the videos of the cars that my Michael did then let me know and I will direct you in the right way - only if you are slower than me next week though LOL

Hey there my friend..
How pro do you want it?.. My experience is that less is better I have used Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects a lot and every time I wish I would have used Microsoft Movie Maker

See this video which is recorded and edited on my iPhone4 with the program iMovie. Took me 5 minutes from I stated editing to it was on youtube

I like both Premiere and After Effects.. But for most of my needs.. I'll keep it simple using Movie Maker and iMovie :P
And.. I think most of the awsomeness of a video is within the shot itself

renejespersen has good advice,
adobe premiere is liked by the magazines, comes in full or elements versions etc, movie maker is free on windows, different versions for xp (v2) or vista (v6), ulead (now corel) video studio is also liked. both adobe & corel have trail downloads. (we have video studio on xp & vista). (there is also movie maker live but i have never seen it)

Mostly its file formats from your camera that may confuse, newer mpg or avchd video being less supported than dv.

Output to youtube or other internet should not be a problem.

http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/ is worth a look if you are heading that way

of course if you have a mac .........
