The revised (SP) rear hubs are LA252 .... they only have 1 hinge pin hole and are made of a different (lower carbon) material that the LA244-0 from the mid-rear conversion. These hubs (LA252) are super strong are a fit and forget item.

glad to see an rtr zx5 thread as i brought one just after christmas love the car but got a few questions

seen a shock ubgrade from 3 racing are they any good they seem real cheap at just over £20 off of ebay

and i just brought a mtronics esc with a 8 turn limit can anyone recommend a good motor prob not gonna be racing just abit of fun round the local parks etc..... but still want it fast

You dont need a under tray, simply buy an assoiated spur gear 78t (i think) put one in mine and its bullet proof, chews up little stones and spits em out

Hi, I have brought a RTR too and it is fast , at first I did put tape under and to the side of the spur gear, but it did get hot and now its
open and is good, i did put strips of velcro (hook side on chassis) and
is fast to open&close and clean.

Also the tires on my car are slicks now, can you recomend some tires

I just got Lazer ZX-5 RTR and now I'm pretty much done with the first set of tires.

What kind of tires have you use on concrete/asphalt? Any recommendations? Also one set for dirt would be nice to have.

Have you found any good offers from the net?

P.S. I have tried to seek a set myself, but it's kind of confusing with all the different models and stuff.

Ok, I did some research and came to pretty obvious conclusion, I ordered one set of stock wheels and Pro-Line Hole Shot Low Profile M3 2.2" to Rear and Pro-Line Inside Job 2.2" M3 4wd to Front.

Had a go on our local track few days ago and it was awesome. I wonder how much more fun will it be with tires that actually works...

You can get some Proline Dirt Hawg 2.2 for 4wd front and regular rear. They are great for concrete/asphalt as well as hardpack clay. Now, Panther racing might have some slicks, too, but I think they come in one size only and not in staggered width like the regular off-road tires.

With a ZX5 rtr, would adding a ESC capacitor to the stock ESC help at all when using a lower than stock turn motor?

No. Power Caps has nothing to do with (budget) ESC. The Limit is there for you to safely use the ESC. You can use anything higher provided that you have enough cooling going through the ESC's heatsink and if you do use it, it would probably for a short period of time. If stock ESC comes with a fuse, it would probably blow then you have replace it or it just simply died
