Default Mid South 4wd Regional Information Sunday 6th July.

SHRCCC BRCA Regional Round Site and Race Information:

4wd Regional and 2wd Support Races.

Track address is: Samuel Cody Sports College, Ballantyne Road, Farnborough, Hampshire GU14 8SN.

Phone number on the day for late arrivals is 07795 260571. Please send a text rather than call.

Due to the nature of the site, no access is allowed before 7.00am. The track and pit space are inside a locked compound. All pitting will be on the grassed area. The only people inside the compound have been notified (committee/helpers) so please do not ask!

Mains power is available but please use sparingly. If you have 12v / generator please use.

We use RC3 decoder so some Harry's will not work.

We finally have our new PA System installed so everyone will hear everything crystal clear.

Trophies for TQ and top u16 and u13 and top Vet. Certificates for all other top 3's.

Food:

There will be either a van onsite. Please support us by using this service, they'll be open early doors!

There are male and female toilets complete with showering facilities. So if you have a long journey to us they are ideal to take advantage of for an extra 20 mins in bed!

Schedule:

7.00am Trackside open for pitting. Track closed.
8.00am Track open for two or three Practice rounds in heat order, 3 min heats. If you are a lower grade driver, you'll be in an early heat! Please Marshall after your practice run - this will help you as well.

7.30am Booking in open.
9.45/10.00am First heat on the line.

Looking forward to a good day for all, see you all there!

All sounds good, looking forward to Sunday.

Can someone tell me the structure of racing for the day, i.e how many rounds of heats and whether it's a 3-leg final?

Thanks!

Hi,

It's the standard format for the brca regional events.
2 off 3 minute practice rounds in heat order.
4 off 5 minute heats
3 finals for the A finalists
1 final for normal people.

Never have agreed with the last 2 points as it's the people in lower heats that need the practice and we all pay the same money etc but that's how it is :-)

Hope that helps.

It can be argued that everyone pays their money so everyone gets 3 legs.
The reason its the A Finalist though, is because its a championship and it would be unfair for that championship to be decided on lets say a breakage or similar, hence the best 2 from 3 legs.

See you there - if anyone needs anything then ping me an email tony@rudebits.net

Is it possible to book in tomorrow morning? I wasn't sure I'd be around due to work commitments so I haven't booked in on the DMS website.

It's a championship for all competitors not just the top ten.

As much as I agree, you are not going to get a champion from the lower finals. Also its an incentive to get into the main A final

3 min heat order practice is a pain as well don't see why we can't have open practice with the fairly low numbers that attend

Tony,
There are also an F2, F3, F4 and F5 Championships, which all can be lost due to a single final breakage or interference from outside sources.

Unfair is a strange word when we all compete, we all pay the same fee to race and the lower drivers have to pay for their equipment

I guess I can see both sides of the argument here but if there's time to give everyone a 3-leg final then I think that's what should happen.

For some of us it's a long drive, plus the fact the TORCH summer series in my experience always gives everyone a 3-leg final. Something is wrong somewhere if a club championship gives all drivers more track time than a BRCA regional.

Also while i'm on here, is it possible to pit out of the tailgate of my car? It's my 1st regional and I don't have a gazebo.

Piting out of the back your car shouldn't be an issue

Had a great day's racing at SHRCCC yesterday, thanks to all involved for a well-run meeting and excellent track layout. Also interesting that the oldest car on the grid had to have weight added to make it legal

Looking forward to this weeks 2WD regional at TORCH
