Default Model shops in Manchester

Are there any model shops in the Manchester area to get few bits from? The 3 I use to use have all closed now.

It depends what you are after to be honest mate. For spares for your b4 as suggested MB Models are good and so are JE models but both are mail order unless you fancy a long drive.

Bolton Model Mart are great for things like electronics and tyres but only stock parts for a limited amount of cars due to lack of space. They are a good set of lads there though and will get you up and running.

MB Models are the best by a country mile, followed by JE, modelsport

It's all online these days, theres Cheshire models in Macclesfield but their website must have been done by a 5 year old and no buying online.

Even the websites for the likes of Schumacher are pathetic

A lot of shops can't see beyond the end of their street.

Apex are hopeless

I've had good experiences with Apex. I believe they are the same company as JE models.

Apex and JE do share an address but it's not the same company, I've asked them about that. JE are 100% mail order no shop anymore. That's from Dave at Apex, he told me that the service is bad but will get better.

Apex are retail and mail order, ebay etc but don't have the systems in place to do quick turn arounds yet, it took them 5 working days to put a part in an envelope that they had in stock, they told me they are working desperately to improve, offered me a discount on any future purchases as compensation. hopefully they will get sorted.

MB offer the best service, they carry good stock too.
