Default M3 mini lock nuts, can anyone help?

Guys

See the attached photos, one is an associated 4/40 mini lock nut and the other one is a Schumacher m3 lock nut.

Now what I'm after are some m3 mini lock nuts the same size as the 4/40 ones.
I'm guessing they are available but it's hard to tell looking at photos if there the same size as the larger Schumacher m3 nuts....

Any ideas?

Gaz

Never seen any m3 nuts other than those with a 5.5mm hex (the 4-40 you are referring to are 3/16 hence 4.7625mm) . But if it's the height you are after, there are some possibilities for low profile m3 locknuts.

They are still 5.5mm, just shorter than a regular m3 locknut.

Just re tap it with m3 cut!
I did that for the steering spindel and the other holes on the b44.3 when mounting the b5 balcups and ball studs on it!
