Default BRCA EoE Regional - Round 1 HNMC - Ware - Sunday 27th April

BRCA EoE Regional - Round 1 HNMC - Ware - Sunday 27th April

Last chance for practise available on Tuesday 22nd April at our club meeting 6pm onwards

Venue

The venue for this round is the newly founded Herts nitro (electric) model car club, located here:
Westmill Farm, A602,Ware, Hertfordshire, SG12 0ES

google map here: http://www.hertsnitromodelclub.co.uk/index.php?ID=5

I can't say just how easy this place is to find, the westmill farm entrance is really big and obvious (its a pretty big complex). the entrance is probably no more than 500 - 600 meters away from the round-about once you leave the A10. once you turn in, you will immediately look to the right and see both tracks. You can park anywhere in the field and pit all around the track. there is alot under cover pitting space, but please be curtious to others do not park you car near this under cover pitting. Drop your stuff and park in the field. Any cars parked there will be asked to move. the under cover pitting is lit and powered with 240v. (improvement made since last year with permanent benches installed ready for the Euro Bs next year)

Times
The Track is open 24x7 (light permitting ) but the gates are always open so you can turn up as early you like. Remember the track will be closed until practise starts.

It looks like SCT will be cancelled, so practise will start at 8am with 30 mins for 2wd and then 30 mins for 4wd from 8.30am till 9. We'll have drivers briefing and racing will get underway around 9.30am.

It will be 4 rounds of qualifying for all on RbR rules. we're aiming for 3 finals for all but obviously if time permits, this may need to be cut down.

Facilities and Track
The track is mainly astro. Only Ballistic buggy and Schumacher spikes are permitted on the driven wheels.

Theres LOADS of pitting space (literally a whole field ) but there is a section under cover about 10 meters away from the track between the electric and nitro tracks. Tables are there, but no chairs.

If you bring a generator, please be curtious of others.

the burger van behind race control will be open on the Sunday. Snacks can also be purchased in the complex on site and there is a McDonalds less than 5 minutes away at the hertford turn off on the A10 (and BP station)

Camping: all camping, whether it is a tent, motor home or caravan will cost £10 and you can arrive anytime after 10am on the saturday. there is a shower block (brand new!) there and lots of facilities etc

As per BRCA rules, all LIPO batteries being charged MUST be inside a recognized LIPO sack (or similiar), anyone found not using one will be asked to leave (you have been warned)...

PT's must be used. We are on RC3 still, so percy PTs WILL NOT WORK.

If you need to leave straight after the final and you've won, please pop over to race control and we'll get your trophy for you then

Spaces still available to pre-book for those who not yet entered.........

Booking In - http://www.centralbooking.org/cbs/index.php (open till tuesday)
Club Website - http://www.hertsnitromodelclub.co.uk

Any questions can be posted here, or feel free to PM if you need to

Hope to see lots of you there!

Thanks for the information, appreciate that.

Quick question.
Is the circuit layout being done on Sunday AM? Otherwise, you risk making this a 2-day event and putting those that cannot practice on the Saturday at a big disadvantage.

This is toy car racing, yes, but nobody wants to arrive to a race meeting on the back foot, just because they can't make a Saturday practice.

Cheers
Andy

Hi Simon,
Thanks for the reply, but...
"14.2 Tracks will be laid out so that there are no hidden areas when viewed from the driver’s rostrum area."

Am I missing something?

It wouldn't bother me if there is a pit filled with hungry Lions who have a taste for toy cars, so long as it's the same and fair for everone, it's all gravy by me.

I'm not really one for boning up on the rule book, but 14.2 doesn't really cover my query. Nor does 14.12.

My question is still as my original post... Will the circuit be created on Sunday morning, so that drivers attending/arriving on Saturday do not have an unfair advantage? The track is open 24/7 after all, and to be fair to the club, it's also a part of a business, I wouldn't want to turn people/customers away in the days leading up to an event if I could help it. Also 14.12 specifies a National event, not a Regional one.

Cheers
Andy

The track will most likely be laid out Saturday afternoon, and then closed. There is nothing to stop anyone turning up after that on Saturday and running on the layout. If caught, I expect they would be excluded from them meeting Sunday.

No Bitchiness Christopher, just a straight forward question, requiring a straight forward answer, lovingly provided by andy-aj.

As Andy has said, the track layout will be completed saturday afternoon (and will be completely new) the track will be marked as closed, the rest comes down to trust, same as the point above about the track being closed till 8am on the sunday.

hope that helps, see you sunday.

Sadly the weather looks bad in Hertford on Sunday. What happens if it's too bad?
