Default Is the X-5 Chassie Graphite ?

Is the X-5 Chassie Graphite and if it is does it need tape on it along the belt tunnel where the cells sit ?????

Just remembered we used to do this when the xxx-s touring car came out all those moons ago

Yes, the X-5 chassis has quite a high graphite content.

Although it may not be necessary to tape the chassis, I always do. I use a clear film from B&Q which is sticky backed, and can be cut to any shape, I also insulate underneath where the motor brush can touch just to be safe, since it weighs nothing anyway.

Chris is right, it is graphite mix. Saying that I've never taped mine up and both my corallys rub on the chassis and it's never shorted out. It is good practice though!
