Default alternative tires to mini pin?

As title, after some suggestions for alternative tires that don't pull at the pile in the carpet?

Foams
Venoms
Panther slicks
nanobytes
Spikes

Any helpful suggestions.

Cheers

Try the venom 88 tyres in white compound with a hard insert. Marstons control tyre and they work great and last forever Dave. I made the decision for them too be a control tyre there.

Yeah a few of us have been using the venoms with slower motors and they are fun but not catching on.

I've tried foams too which can easily keep up, possibly out do pins (with the right driver lol) unfortunately not readily available.

How did your entries go when you made the change?

It also could be surface dependant, at WBMCC the white Venoms only start to grip half decently after a fair few heats. At other tracks with more grippy and perhaps newer carpet they may start gripping much earlier.

Chicken and egg situation, allegedly the mini pins make the Venoms grip less. People don't want to migrate to Venoms whilst there's no grip, but there will be no grip with Venoms whilst people still use mini pins.

PS: And yes, Venoms are a whole lot of fun at WBMCC with 13.5T motors.

We use VBC SE slicks over here, but with additive. As we have to share the carpet with the TC guys.

I've ran venom whites with 13.5 and in blinky, which is still a lot of fun.
The grip should come back once pins are no longer used ??? I hope...

I found on the venoms you need high horse power to get the tyres to spin and generate heat, then they work well. Also need additive to work.

I would have thought anything spiky and not very soft is going to pull the pile in the carpet - a bit like velcro; the hook side catches/claws on the loop side. Surely, unless you have no spike, you are going to have the same problem? A softer compound may allow the spike to fold rather than stay stiff and "claw" at the carpet?

Perhaps that's where we have gone wrong. 13.5 blinky can't generate the heat.

Ive run both slicks and venoms at west bridgford and both times ive run them on a 6.5 motor, run white venoms with tubby inserts, dont belt the tyre as they need to expand too work.

Ive tried venoms at bridgford and they were fucking wank! I would like to see foams back. There is a club up north that runs foams with some success i think. Cant remember which one though.
