So what are people generally running on the akerman spacers??
I see a bit of variance on the team driver sheets from 0 - 2mm So will reducing the amount of spacers increase the initial turn in and help on power steering?? Another quick question on the steering rack height, I assume this effects the bump steer?? |

Has anyone got any good setups for low grip conditions?
We race in an old barn on a Thursday night which is carpet and plywood sections, when the temperature drops its a nightmare to drive on its like a ice rink!! We are at bottom of a valley in Cornwall so it's usually around 2 degrees!!! Any help would be appreciated! Callum |

Have to say, 4mm on the Ackerman plate is the way on high grip, car was way better, way less aggressive, thanks Allan, managed a 2nd in the A final last night with it, qualified 3rd, dropped to last after getting binned in the start, but it was so fighty last night, clawed back 3rd, and then a retirement inherited my best finish yet!

I ran 2mm buddy, seemed much more forgiving! Black front 45wt Yatabe, Purple 40wt rear, car was extremely planted, and still had plenty of steering, just felt less "hooky".

Car does like some heavy oil indeed. Played a lot with the car today, came up with this setup in the end: http://yokomozone.eu/setup/details/d...2-05-2015-acue

I tried running 2mm but the steering link caughht on the front bulkhead. I reduced it to 1mm and its fine.
What might have I built wrong to get this issue??

Hmm, Dan im getting no fouling of the bulkhead buddy, i can see daylight between it at least. What fore/aft spacers do you have on the servo mounts buddy?
Car was dialled last night, left last weeks set up on it, and for the second week running popped it into the A in sixth, finished fourth, so thats a good result for me being B final fodder lol. One thing i wanted to ask, and didnt get time to try it, shes a bit lairy under braking, and was told to try a couple more spacers, under the inner camber link on the front bulkhead, to help settle it down......sound feasible? I've read up but I am a bit confused where these spacers are going. Do you have a picture?

Should be 2mm under the plate, 4mm in the front behind the steering balls, at least thats what ive got Allan.
Is it possible Dans servo is too far forward on the servo mounts, hence with 2mm under the plate, hes hitting the bulkhead? lee

It could be the screws fauling under the steering plate. I use shorter ones when i take out spacers.
