We'd all like to see a local UK or Schumacher driver fighting it out in the A final...
This is a good thing.
It's released to customers before it's use in anger by the factory and b team drivers at the Euros. Anyone else who wants it can now try it too. Ben's promo vid and build shots on Facebook are good marketing.
This looks like a product that been tested before the euros warm up. Schumacher don't rush ideas out. I have on very good authority that this concept was being tested long before the euro warm. A small company like Schumacher won't have the capacity to think / test and get into production this new chassis in the short weeks between the warm up and the euros.

I ran mine for the first time last night. The amount of forward traction it generates is phenomenal, and on carpet it allowed me to get on the power ridiculously early, breaking traction progressively and controllably.

The only downsides were having to hack the rails & bodyshell (I didn't think to order the modified shell). I was also stuck with having to borrow a long sensor lead as I only had normal length leads.

I'm looking forward to back-to-backing the two configurations tomorrow on grass

It wasn't tested at the Euros warm up.
If it existed do you not think we would have seen it then?

It doesn't matter anyway, it out now so kf owners can enjoy it.

Don't worry about Neal he's just bitter because no one who wants to be competitive will be running the YZ2

He'll have to look to selling his pom pom's and ra ra skirt!!!

Apart from a couple of carbon bits and a short belt - its the same car with different mounting holes in the chassis? Not exactly a big deal to Schumacher surely? Could have knocked it up in lunch break?

I'm going to buy a short belt and mod a KF1 (hopefully) if it is indeed just a question of drilling a few holes in a spare chassis. I can make the other bits I need from carbon myself.

Yeah and I heard to get the distance for the new motor position. They used a dart board and where the dart landed that's the distance. All this in a lunch break 👏🏻 nice one

Sounds like a winner, let us know how it goes on the grass.

John - you are a legend - remind me never to outsource any work to you - no doubt you'd spend bloody ages pondering over it - rather than doing it!

Think it's safe to assume they simply put the motor / transmission as far back as it could go without needing to redesign the transmission housing parts - then get a belt to fit - simple!

Hope this goes well though next week for the guys running it - would be nice to see some of our local Brits in the top 3.

Ran the new conversion Sunday on Grass.
Very impressed with the forward drive in the damp morning and the stability the rear has out of a bend.

Ran brass under the lipo when the grip came up and made the normal set up adjustment to the stock tower pick up as required.

When the track went dusty the car was mint, couldn't put a foot wrong and was confident to attach in areas others where having to back off.

Ran all day on 20k gear diff and CVD rear driveshafts.

What's the front/rear weight distribution with the new chassis?

I think when Schumacher released the KF, they aren't exactly thinking how far along this chassis will evolve. This chassis is now not just replacing the SV2 but also possibly the KR product line as well.

If they choose to release an update kit to the KF2 that includes this new chassis, ball diff and ability to mount the shocks rearward without option part, it will be their most definitive 2wd kit till date.

I don't have the percentage figures to hand, but visually it's not all that different to the conventional KF2 shorty layout.

The principle difference is the positioning of the motor to make the best use of reaction torque. Under power, the spin direction & force is concentrated closer to the rear axle, shoving the entire assembly downwards. It's very clever - the harder you nail it on corner exit, the more controllable the rear end.

Does the conversion have all the wholes in the chassis so you can run the standard low grip configuration? If yes would I notice much difference running the carbon chassis vs metal. Just thinking I can't be arsed to change the chassis when grip conditions change!

Thanks, do you know how the handling changes between alloy and carbon chassis? I see you run a top deck and no side bars with the carbon chassis.

A whole host of differences, if you log onto the Schumacher website and look at the exploded diagrams for the two cars you can cross reference all of the part numbers but you will soon see how fundamental most of the changes are!

Default KM on Astro?

Anyone run the mid motor setup on wet/dry Astro yet?

Have a cobra chassis en route for my Kf. Local club is Astro and am hoping it will be good in the wet and dry as well. We all run low grip layout wet or dry.
