can't wait, will it be a nice tight track with some well built big jumps? Are there any club meetings there before the regional?

I like the idea of the club with the largest points score, but why at the last meeting, why not the whole chapionship?

Sounds good to me, like David says I think the club points thing is a nice touch. Sounds like I might have to book in for 4wd drive to help boost NBC's chances!!
Just for a paper exercise it might be nice to total it up over the series of 6 meetings taking perhaps the top 4 or 5 from each club, to avoid the one off attendances supporting their club event.

Can you confirm if there will be a couple of hand out transponders available like last time?

I am going on Wednesday the 17th to help lay, or just lay, the track. As far as I know, there is no off road track at the moment as it was lifted for the motox. Should be fairly similar to before, unless I can get more pipe to the track to increase the overall length and pop a few more bends in. But that requires time - something I am drastically short of. (That's a cry for help if anyone can?)

To help with gearing etc - the straight will be the same length.

Why the last round.
I didn't want to offer a prize to something that may already have been decided or biased (Without going through all the numbers, I knew it would be close, but I couldn't be sure who'd get it)
But the main thing was to try and entice the MERCC drivers to come en-mass and take advantage of the locality and they aren't club racing that week so if they come along in numbers, they could steal it.

Another fast 4WD - bugger! I didn't count on that! Personal preference aside, the more the merrier

That would be good - to see the overall number on the club champs. I agree with taking the top contributions from each club. I'll do that when I get back after the meeting and see what pops up and post it.

By the way, officially, I am still MORErc, so that's the wooden spoon sorted.

Transponder wise - should be, but it'll get in touch with the big man in charge (Mr Bellinger) and see if he can put one aside for you.

I am really looking forward to it. Really hoping the MERCC guys pop there names down and a some of our Coastal cousins do too. Anything like the numbers we got in round 2, would wrap the season up beautifully. FINGERS CROSSED!

I did the last one. (round 2) Although it's been pulled and re-laid since then, so someone else must have done one?!

Now it's been taken up again, it will need re-laying.

In short, likely but not definitely.

A mass email just went out to everyone I have a listed email address for. Racers old and new. Even club chairpersons are getting their arms twisted.

If you didn't get it and want a copy - PM your email address.

If you did get it, don't assume that everyone at your club knows about it - send it on them, with a header saying "Unmissable, we have to go to this: the third greatest event of 2011, after the Worlds and the F3,4,5 finals in September!" (Ruthlessly overselling things should not be the sole privilege of broadband suppliers)

Spread the word for others to come along and race on the best off road turf in the WORLD! (see above bracketed section - although it really is, fantastic turf to race on!)

Hope to see you trackside in a couple of weeks!

Default Pic

For all those "organised" ones looking to do such abhorent things like, maintain the car, alter the set ups etc . Here is the track.

Things to note - The straight is shorter, although there is a gradual bend on entry. (Clockwise circuit).

Thanks to Craig Woods for the design. Thanks to Craig Woods, Paul Bellinger, George Fairweather, Ian Alcock and muggins for laying it in the piddling rain!

Pic doesn't do it justice, but at least you get an idea of size and layout. With a great mix of speed and technical sections. What you can't really get form the pic is the natural undulations in the track complete with natural jumps and both on and off camber corners.

We have (at least) two new faces coming on Sunday and with a bit of luck they'll have a good run and get the bug! One is currently looking for a new car, possibly a DEX410 second hand (if you spot anything). BUT, in the meantime will be running my spare. If anyone can help me out with some charging on this car, I and he would be grateful.

That's it - see you Sunday!!!

Track looks pretty good.

Just to let all racers know, there will be a questionnaire floating about during the meeting, please take 5 minutes to fill one in and return it to me.

Dave the weather forecast has changed everyday so far for Sunday!!

Thanks,
Jonathan

Understandable. And appreciate the heads up.

As Mr B says though, weekend is looking promising again (depending on which report you look at) so hopefully you'll be there. Shame Thomas can't make it.

The minimum number for a heat is 5 to ensure sufficient marshal points are filled. With this in mind, here is the provisional heat list.

NOTE: if anyone drops out, heats of the same class will be combined up to a maximum of 10 and evenly distributed with the odd number in the highest heat.
