Default Idiots guide to regionals / nationals help needed

Hi all

I'm after an idiots guide to nationals regionals etc...

Have had a look on the brca website but can't find a simple explanation of how the whole system works...

Is there a page somewhere that shows all the different regions there are in the uk , is there instructions somewhere that sets out what regions use what tracks etc, can you mix and match regional races do they all add up somehow ... Can anyone attend a national or are they for the drivers that have attended regionals only ? I have a limited understanding of f1 f2 f3 etc etc and how you go about achieving these gradings ( not that I have the ability myself ) . Maby there is a page on the brca website that explains it all that I've missed and someone could point me to.?

As you can see I have no idea what I'm on about , I enjoyed a day recently at silverstone winter series and watching the top guys going round was an experience for sure, so fancy this year going to some regionals or nationals etc I just don't understand the structure of the whole thing!

Any help appreciated !

Have a look in this section: http://www.oople.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=31
pick a region closest to you and ask dates and club venues, they will be happy to help.

as youve not done it before you will be an f5 for your 1st year or more depending your abilities

hth.

Firstly you'll need BRCA membership. As the above post pick the region closest to you, you'll start off as an F5 having never raced before and would enter as many rounds as possible as the scoring may be taken as your best four results out of six rounds. At the end of this if you finish in the top 20% (I think) you'll earn an F2 rating and so on down to F5, you'll only be able to achieve an F1 by attending nationals. You can't mix scoring rounds from different regionals never can you mix 2 and 4wd scores. Check your batteries and motor are on the approved list (speed controllers and servos are exempt) if you don't have one would suggest you buy a transponder as some events may have one to hire but wouldn't bank on it. Finally I'd strip down clean and rebuild and check all the electrics. On the day get there as early as possible and enjoy the day.
