DVD ripping software that actualy works (free)
Does anyone know of any free DVD ripping software that actually works?
Everything I've tried appears to be free but if you want to unlock features i.e. actually getting it to do anything usefull, you need to pay. I would like to be able to rip some of my own DVD's so to watch them on ipad or Nexus when on flights / trains etc. Cheers

Handbrake dude.
Http://www.handbrake.fr Rips to MP4 format, you can then import into iTunes, and sync with device. Works well I ripped my entire DVD collection this way.

Mark - thanks for that, I actually tried handbrake about a year ago and couldn't get it to work, perhaps user error. I might come back for some help if I get stuck again if you don't mind.

There is an old version of DVDfab here, may take a bit of setting up..... but just worked for me, refuse any prompts to update to paid version.
or there are versions of dvd decrypter around (the free part of dvdfab) (I am assuming windows) |
