Andy - see my thread two posts below 'First time out . . '. Download the setup sheet from Mat Dodd. I was struggling like you until I set it up exactly per his sheet.

If you go to the last few posts on the thread you will see that I asked Mat about weights and he has provided his info in the last hour or so.
Myself I run 100g behind the servo, 110g under the speedo and 35g under the lipo and I have the heavier plastic chassis. I also have a fan on my motor, which adds a further 35g in that area. My lipo weighs 290g and I have a relatively light speedo - LRP SXX Competition. Finally I've taped up the inside of the body with cricket bat tape making it quite chunky at 70g. All the weights are knocked together from lead sheet and in comparison to the flash brass weight kits it has a much lower profile and hence centre of gravity. All in, it's a whopping 1850g in weight, but that suits me as a novice driver. Re roll bar - yes I run silver on the rear.

I've always run in-line on my B4's (although I was in the minority), so started out with them on the X6.
For me the trailing axles are too dead and inconsistent. The car feels really slow and heavy turning in, you get lots of snatchy steering mid-corner and then push on the way out. The in-line's feel to give much more consistent balance right the way through the corner, and direction change is much better. The flipside of this is they make the car much more sensitive to small steering inputs and it reacts very quickly around neutral - which most people can't seem to get on with. The thing you have to remember is you have to change other parts of the car's setup to make the most of the different axle configurations, the few people I've seen try the in-line's don't change anything else on their car - then think they're rubbish and never run them again. But like lots of things, you need to try them for yourself! |

i tried out your setup and the car seemed to lean in the corners to much and if you tried to push it just rolled over ! oh and the steering was none at the start and then to much all at once ? so still struggling
