i'm thinking the same thing tbh, never ran the Vega indoors, although considering the insane traction it has outdoor (wet or dry) im gonna start off on my standard set-up in worksop, and work from that

it was mostly no front end grip, you couldnt get enought speed up in the slow corners to get the car to dig in,it was weard because the change of direction was very good, but in the end i turned the punch up to power it round,it just had no grip when in neural,

can you post your setup? I'm assuming you were running similar to me and Tony?

If it was getting into the turn ok, raising the innner front ballstud would have helps mid and exit steering. However, if it was struggling to turn in then you may have been too high.

More weight up front

Long wheelbase would have let the rear rotate round on power.

Short rear link on rear hub would also help

What was your ride height? I'd normally be about 23mm on the rear and 19mm on the front

I've not run the car there so i'm afraid i can't do anything more than suggest options. I suppose the good thing is that the car doesn't lack drive! we can get the steering back.

Hope that helps....

Kev

I had a quick go with Ash's, it did have some slightly odd characteristics, felt anti-squat related i reckon..

Mine felt pretty good all round especially steering wise. Ive not altered the setup from one Jon Spencer gave me for outdoors. Think i was top Vega but not certain ? finished mid B Final. I lose time as i never use the brake in 2WD, need to force myself to learn. Aside from that, it felt fantastic.

Post up your setup and ill adjust it to where mine is if you wish.

thanks chaps
im running Mat Owens setup, apart from,
front 35wt losi oil with orange spring,
rear 27.5wt losi oil with yellow spring,

by the end of the day i had moved the rear shocks on the outside hole on the arm, probably didnt help because it made the usual easy to do jumps impossible so had to roll them, but tried it to get more body roll,
taken the 2mm washers out from the front inside camber link, changed to 25 front kick up,washer behind on the front hub and put 10g eather side of the servo, ride hight finished off 18mm front and 20rear,
i would say it struggled at the start and the middle then hook at the end if you were rolling into a corner, short squirts on and off power(after putting drag brake on 3,i usualy run 1)it was ok,
i did have a shocker of a day,but everyone with the vega seemed a bit out of sorts

Hi yah
It has been such a long time since I raced at Worksop indoors. I think over 10 years easy!!
Is it still cork?
Is it slippery?
I am very suprised at your symptoms..........
It sounds like a trip to Worksop is necessary!
Is the event full at all??

Few places left Tony but the event is filling fast. Rd 1 was full. Yeah still cork. The lighting has now all been upgraded so you can see where you`re driving. It`s only slippery early on before the track starts to warm up. After that id personally say it was medium bite. Hope to see you there mate

Putting a brass bulhead on could make the car push on through the corners and once it finally pitches in it could stay in the corner way too long too. It is very difficult to advice without being there and experiencing what is obviously an out of the ordinary problem.
We put weight under the servo rather than over the axle as we find that can slow the reaction time of the front end too much.

Lead?? - No need for foul language - SURELY!!! |LOL

No worries Mark, there were plenty of guys there faster than i am but i can assure you that my own car wasnt lacking steering. I feel your pain though as i have ran there in the past with other cars and had the same.
I will do my best to help. Get some cash out and invest in the Rudebits kit.
