Default RC10 from the chassis up?

Hi all.
I've always wanted a gold pan RC10, ever since first seeing the adverts in the 80's. I missed the boat a bit with the re-release, and I'm wondering, is it feasable to buy a new gold pan chassis and build one up from parts?
I was considering a mix of old and new parts to come up with a decent standard spec build.
There seem to be gold pan chassis available in the states for less than in the UK.
Any advice or ideas? or am I being daft?

RC10 Talk or Ebay worldwide under rc10 youll find a few in good condition but would mean having to get it dipped to remove the paint and repaint it. Costs a lot but if its worth it to you why not.

Unless you already have the parts, that will be an expensive way.
When you say that you sort of missed the boat with a rere, do you mean that you can't find one? If so I might be able to help...

I was going to order a new chassis from the states, and then try to find a car with a bad chassis and decent parts.
Do you have a complete car or kit?
