I ran a Kyosho ZX-5 (non SP version) for a season and loved it. Great car it was but I got over excited and ordered the B44 as soon as it was available. At first I was quite dissapointed in the B44 and thought that I had made a mistake because the B44 was totally different to the car I enjoyed driving and as a last ditched attempt I got myself a front one way diff for it. It changed the B44 into a superb race monster! In a different class to the old ZX-5. I've not tried the B44 with the normal diff again but I think driving style has adapted anyways so my vote goes to the B44 all the way.

Never driven the ZX-5 SP so can't comment on that. I am starting to get the idea that Roger might like his

Why not get a durga burger better car than the zx5sp cheaper than the b44 cheaper than most cars and takes stick packs so is lipo proof.

I voted for the Kyosho. I have raced them for the last few years and from what I have seen, they are much tougher than the AE. That said though, I blieve Associated are addressing the issues with the top plates.
Kyosho had a bit of a weak spot with the c-hubs on the original ZX-5 but the SP version has changed the design and now appears to be much stronger.
I would also look at the Hotbodies D4 as an option aswell. It has great strength and fantastic handling and has also dropped in price to £200. Certainly worth considering.

So what make a durga better than a zx5-sp then? Certainly not its plastic shocks and diff outputs!

Or shock towers or lack of slipper clutch.

Well it is all down to personal preference really, some may like how one car feels compared to the other, or they may like the fact that spares may be easyer to get a hold of, which can make it less hassle if you break something. I voted for the B44 by the way.

After 8 long months of running the B44, parts are starting to break.

Didnt break any arms however in a month or so.

If that T4 didnt plow into my B44 it would still be intact...

The B44 is meant to last, and it outlasted me for this long.

Be sure to replace broken parts on it perodically and you'll be fine.

So, how do the B44 compare to your tamiya buggy?

I find, say, a broken front arm really kills the handling......

How do the BJ4 compare to the B44?

Which one is the best?
What is the difference?

neither car is 'the best' it's down to personal preference of which one you can drive better, the bj4 has alot more alloy parts as standard and doesnt have an ajustable slipper where the b44 does, but they both handle in a very similar way as they are almost identicle, i do think the b44 gearbox's and gear meshing is more reliable though as i've seen many diff gear's strip the bj4
