Default Tamiya Top Force

I'm going to start rebuilding a Top Force I bought last week and wanted to put a brushless system in it but I'm not sure what turn motor the gear box will handle.

I was thinking along the line of 8.5-10.5t, would that be ok?

Hi Ross,

I ran 8.5 in mine with 21t pinion. It was perfect. Remember the pinions are 0.6 not 48dp. I used R.W pinons.

Hope that helps.

I run an 8.5 and 10.5 in mine with no issues , really need to run the alternative spur from one of the road going variants to alter the gearing if you want to run a 10.5 as it was too slow even with the biggest pinion it also gives you a much broader gear ratio spread , I will dig out the part number if I can find it also alloy motor mount is a must . Hope that helps Andrew.

Ok cool. I thought 10.5 would be better on the gearbox as it's less power , I'll happily run an 8.5 in it.

Thanks for the help

Ross

Ok cool.

lol probably put a turning system in it, my kids run then in their Kf and YZ and they seem great for the money.

Thanks
