Well my firt rc car was an on-road car, as my dad wouldn't let me get an off-roader, as i was only 10 and he didn't want me to trash it. Anyway my first car was a tamiya TA01, then a Tamiya TA02, Then a Tamiya TA03, Then a Tamiya TT01 then a Tamiya TA04 Pro, Then My dad got e and my bro an old schumacher bosscat i think. Then i moved onto my b4 and now i finally have a bj4 and my b4 still. But somewhere along the line i managed to pick up a RC 18T and a RC12 L4.

First RC car was a "Trial 12" made by some obscure Japanese company. Weighed the wrong side of 5lb and would break kerbstones with it's metal bumpers .

First proper RC car was a Hornet, which got replaced with an Optima. Since then I've had a Cat XLS which evolved into a ProCat. Then a Lazer ZXR. This eventually made way for a CAT 2000 EC, then a CAT 3000. Yokomo MX4 followed which was hastily replaced by a XX4. This eventually made way for a MR4BCS, and finally I now run a KMC ZX-5. I think I've got those in the right order.......

Along the way there's been a couple of XXX's, a Parma Pro 10, Mardave Ministock, Mardave Marauder, and now I race V12 bangers too .

And there you have 20 years of racing history!

Sosidge - Canterbury Burners - not so much a track, more a desolate field with a few ropes in

Im feeling all nostalgic now!

Mine was the legend that was the Tamiya Rough Rider!

Few others along the way that I can remember, Wild Willy, Optima, Mardave Marauder and Ministock, Hirobo Zerda (remember that one with the roll cage!), and the original Schumacher Cat. I remember at the time I was struggling to get 5 minutes out of the batteries to finish a race - hows times have changed!

Had a break for 20 years then and then got an Associated TC3 and now an Xray T2R and Yokomo MR4-BX.

Memories!

My first car at 10 was the Tamiya Madcap!

What a beast ;-) haha

Best thing was that the first day my Dad had finished building it he was trying to make sure it was ok and drove it straight into a kerb snapping the chassis!! I think that was the last time he ever held a handset, i had to show him how to do it from there on

In at the deep end with a Cougar and some of the worst electrics available. Upgraded everything over the next two years except that car, which was damned near faultless!

My first car was a cen gx1 nitro touring car which i used to race around a car park a bit. Then i bought my tc4 which i used to race at wrexham model car club for a year. Then that christmas i was bought a mini lst. And about 3 or 4 weeks later i fell in love with offroad and i bought my b4. I then sorta raced that all year until september when i converted my tc4 into a tc4 ft which i never ran. So i ran my b4 though the winter until january when i bought chris longs mardave v12 off him and raced that a bit and raced my b4 inside. Then in march i bought my xx4 we now i just race my b4 and xx4.

I started attending club meetings with a Tamiya Mudblaster, I had the blackfoot and monsterbeetle shells for it too.

My first car was a 4wd, the Lazer ZX, I stuck with 4wd for a long while switching to the Procat and then when I went to 2wd bought the Cougar2 Team which I hated, I next bought a Traxxas TRX1 just before Woody won the national at Bury with one.

my first car, the Tamiya Falcon...

http://www.vintagercweb.com/falcon.html

I always remember the mabuchi 540 motor packing in on me, so i fitted a 22 turn motor into the car, bearing in mind i was still using a mechanical speed controller. Half way down the straight on the second lap, the speedo burst into flames, it looked AWESOME! bit of a mess mind....

From about 1986/7ish > Tamiya Grasshopper > Tamiya Hotshot > PB Mini Mustang (great car) > Schumacher Cat XL > Optima Mid LWB > Kyosho Ultima Pro > Kyosho Lazer ZXR > Associated RC10 B2 > Yokomo YZ10. Stopped racing about 92/93. Restarted 2004 with on road Pro4 then got back to proper cars in 2006 with Associated RC10B4 > Kyosho ZX5 > JConcepts BJ4WE.
