No my friend its hydro-dipped. RichyUk on here did it, he also did the plastic bearing holders and the belt adjusters on the gearbox plates on page 2.

Default Chassis build !!!!!!!!!!

A little more work done to the Cougar, starting with the build of the ball raced steering then on to the front end.

New fitted is front bulkhead, hinge pins, hinge pin brace, front shock tower new screws and of course new purple nuts....

Back end shows gearbox fitted and all new screws fitted to underside, its also starting to look like a Cougar 2

Click pics to enlarge....

That's looking pretty cool with the carbon effect hydro dip

I'm swayed on whether to get this done on one of my Cougars, but one day I'll hopefully find a real CF one. One day..

Go for it CAT3K, RichyUK is the man. The chassis was really scratched with deep grooves also. I did not think the chassis would look as good as it does. My pics do not really do it justice as the purple is not really showing in the pics I have taken. The CHASSIS looks brand new DO IT DO IT DO IT

Looks brilliant Mark.

FL have been asked to do a tub before, Stephen said that many a people have come to him asking for it, but its a very complicated (a lot more lines as opposed to the RC-10 tub i believe) and expensive process...maybe one day!

Wanted to ask, how are you going to do your electric install? Saddles, shorty / full fat lipo down the middle? The lipos are just a bit to tall to go under the platic retainer bit on the bulkhead, and i think side by side saddles run over the annoying 'bumps' on the chassis (why are they even there lol?) I'm just not sure what to do right now...

Im not sure if I will run it as yet may just leave it on the shelf but temptation may get the better of me.

All those holes are to allow you to place batteries across the chassis with a extra battery holder so you had choice for battery down middle or across chassis...... You will notice as well you can fit batteries across the chassis in 2 stages back and forward.

I used to run speedo on left of car if sat in it, then wires straight through on to motor. Receiver on right if sat in it with wire from speedo straight across under battery with electrical tape over wire for protection.

I used to fit speedo and receiver nearer front so in normal condition run battery down center (dry) then wet fit battery across as close to the back as poss.

Hope that helps.

Yeah Mick.. one day

I think Fibrelyte were willing to make the tubs, at one point, quite a few people have asked and even provided alu chassis for them to make the mould. But if I remember correctly, the cost was huge

Paul.

The tubs from BITD were marketed by Eurocomposite (I don't know if they actually made them themselves) You don't tend to see them in the UK, but if you're willing to search European ebays, they do come up for sale very occasionally.

Default Chassis build !!!!!!!!!!

So a little more work completed. Shocks, rear bumper and battery holder fitted. New springs, new rear bodies and new oils fitted.

Now at the start of the build I did have a little help and this person has been bugging me from start, he wanted to be in the pics. So here he is his name is TANGOMACHER I made him wear his HIGH VIZ for safety reasons. First pic shows him with his allen keys skills and second pic shows him showing his beautiful eyes. It went well that pic as I didnt want to give him red eye.

Everyone say hello to TANGOMACHER !!!!!!!!

Anyway back to build, I will be fitting up wing ends and putting wing on and then wheels later, so will get pics up then.
