Yes they look nice, question is the metal they use, is it up for the job?

Also please see last version of the Knuckles for the Lazer ZX and ZXR. Ive added hex sections where the king pin screws went and x factory low profile nyloc nuts are a perfect fit. This stops the king pin screws coming out, plus as its a shapeways design ive altered the splines on either side of the arm as this stops flex. I think now these willbe suitable for events and have fitted a pair to my racer already. Hope you can see from this image what Ive done.

I found Sworkz 2wd front wheels are a direct fit and match the Annsman wheel diameter, i use the tpro wheels though due to being pretty much identical to the Annsman wheels. These wheels are sold by my sponser Answer below as they are the distributors in the uk.

What parts would I need to fit the ZX-S metal front one-way pulley onto a zx or zxr layshaft.

Also did anyone else start getting emails for updates to threads and now they have stopped again?

Nothing re updates but the layshaft plulley, think i tested a bearing and spaced it accordingly but you need the LA11 side wall washer section to stop the pulley coming off. Its a pain to fit and stop slop hence why its better suited on the zxs rather than in my car.

This will only be for a display car.
So it looks like I need the spacer that goes between the one-way and the nut on the end of the shaft. Apparently its part of la-103 along with lots of other parts, so I guess there is zero chance of getting one :-(

Anyone have the thrust plates, guide plates and reverse one-way for a Lazer ZX? I imagine no one uses this setup for a runner, I just want it for my vintage cf tub display car, I have the layshaft and regular rear drive hub so far and want to use that instead of a zx-r setup if possible just for something different

Is it LA-3 Thrust Plate and LA-5 Guide Plate Set?

I'm guessing it would be new parts you are after?
Think I have the parts you are after apart from the thrust bearing and balls for spur gear. some are new ( parts the la11 pulleys slide onto) but the rest are used. ......is it the whole drive assembly from a zx layshaft?. I will have a look what I have some point this week.

Default Lazer Update

Hy all,
I Always loved my lazer and after reading this thread (not all pages indeed), it made me want to use my Lazer ZXR again
I want to make some race with a brushless setup.
But I'm not sure which spare parts are needed, I mean: what kind of modern spur and slipper must be used, need a belt tensioner, can I upgrade with zx5 /zx6 parts (steering, arms, shocks ecc.).
In short "pimp my car"
Any suggestion is welcome
Ciao
Kigne

Default Lazer upgrades

Hi Kigne.

See attached photos.

Fibrelyte made the tensioner carbon plate for me. PM me for details as they can make for you. I use a Cougar KF tensioner with it.

Slipper Associated VTS multiplate slipper. Google Alcyon/Rama Chandran/Optima he makes the layshafts for it. Straight swop.

Hope this helps.

Alex

Default Finished Lazer

Here it is before its first test / race. It was quick, ran an 8.5 with a 24 tooth pinion and 93 tooth spur.

Took a while to get suspension working and the monkey on the sticks was the weak link!

Yupfibrelyte do my tensioner for the front belt and rw do 100t associated B4 spurs but youll need to buy Alcyons layshaft and an associated slipper clutch. All flat bits are made by fibre lyte and have a section for lazer zx and zxr and my designs James Instone. Wheels the Annsman mad rat wheels front and rear are an exact fit and do look nice. As per the previous message from Alex, his car goes well and may be a good idea using the associated spurs also rather than RW but also im happy to help as well.

Hi
I'll double check what I need this week, I have the layshaft and la-11 sorted just need all the plates for the spur from memory and the law-4 reverse one-way though I already have the regular one and its only a display car. Have spur and balls sorted too.

Thanks guys!
I can see a blue steering in your Lazer, is the special unicrank servo saver (Kyosho 39655)? Why not install a modern servo saver, maybe zx6 steering?
Thanks
