Default Electric 8th in the North West?

Hi lads,

I'm interested in giving electric 8th scale a go and maybe enter the nationals next year as a change from the 10th nats.
Which clubs in the uk cater for electric 8th club racing? I'm especially talking about the North West so Pendle, Kirkham and NNRC really but wouldn't mind travelling some distance.

Obviously if I'm planning on running nationals I will need regular club racing to prepare myself and the car.

Have you looked on maxbashing? Bit more 1/8 on there

Chris

Pretty much sure PDMCC or NNRC/PRCC (now joining together) will accommodate you but you will struggle in the 20/30 min finals.

No other 8th Scale clubs in the North West, if you go further distance you may get a full heat.

Thanks Neil,

I wouldn't mind having a battery swap during the final as the nitro boys will have to come in to refuel. I'm just a bit concerned what would happen if I was beating the nitros with the E8 as I've heard they are quicker?

I wouldn't mind trying nitro so E8 is a way in to me and if I like it get some nitro gear. Getting a good standard of nitro gear looks very expensive though alongside running 10th.

I had a look on maxbashing the other day but there wasn't much info.

With the right lipo, and esc motor combo I'm sure 25 minutes is very easy, but got to be a 6s 22.2 and a low KV motor set up. I have never timed mine but sure I have had 30 mins on my 6500mah S.M.C lipo

In fact had race in nitros heat and managed qualify in A final 3th. Finished 20min final being 2th. Batteries was used IP 6800mah 2x2s, motor 1900kv. Loose dirt track. Wasn't even pushing hard neither braking. Actually 7200mah batteries would be perfect for 20min final for me. Just needs to watch temperatures of motor. best way just gear it down for final. good luck
