i would say yes, i have the BMI chassis for a cyclone and this has inset areas for gearbox housings etc.
you will have to be careful though |

if you are routing a carbon chassis, you will need special bits to do it, otherwise it will rip and splinter the carbon weave....
Also, H+S plus COSHH, you will need to wear a dust mask, and have dust extraction on the machine too, Carbon dust is Cumulative, in as much as, once you breath it in, it stays in, it don't come back out...

no.. not Carbide, you need special Carbon Composite cutting bits, Carbide is just an impurity they add to steel to make it harder.
