Default Round 2 - 4wd Regional - 8 June 2008

Just a reminder to all that the second round of the regional championships is this coming Sunday, at Coastal Model Car Club in Ipswich.

Like last year there will be some indoor pitting and mains power to.

Booking in via racechat.com like normal.

Hopefully we will see some of the ellusive Coastal and Colchester off road racers at this meeting

a note from Paul about the meeting at the weekend:

Just a few final instuctions to all competitors before the meeting on Sunday,

The gates will open at 9.00, please do not drive down the lane until 9.00, If you arrive early, park up quietly on the road.

Weather permitting, there should be trackside parking, (bear right at the on road track) and head for the ski slope, but indoor pitting is available with 240volt mains supply to all pit spaces and a compressor for car cleaning.

There are kitchen facitities with microwave, toaster, tea and coffee, (small donations welcomed) but you will need to bring you own food as there will not be a burger van at this event, although there are local shops.

The track will be open for practice from 9.00 and we expect to get the off road racing under way at approximately 10.30 following the driver briefing.

If you came last year you will find several changes, the racing now takes place on the hill where the grass is alot smoother and faster, and the rostrum has been moved to give a better view point.

We look forward to seeing you all on Sunday and hope that the weather is kind.

Regards
Paul

Thumbs up weather report!!!

Saturday:

A grey start for many with some mist and occasional light rain. The occasional light rain will slowly transfer westwards, the east gradually becoming drier and brighter. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

There will be plenty of dry weather on Sunday and Monday with some warm sunny spells. However, cloud and very light rain may arrive later on Tuesday, introducing cooler temperatures.

YEAH BABY!!!! C U ALL TRACKSIDE

Well what a day and so nice to race on such a lovely sunny warm day to. I think Coastal Model Car Club laid out a great track, that didn't seem to suite any driver inparticular with three different round winners in qualifying, and gave some very close racing in the finals.

Thanks to Coastal for as always running a superb meeting, along with the commentary which is always a welcome bonus.

Congratulations to the winners of the finals (including me ) and the top drivers in the respective gradings.
