It's nice JP that you do a recap of the most important info from the euroindoorrace.com site in this thread, but
you probably forgot the most important part of it all and that is: there is a mandatory(6mik) tire to be used on this event, and this tire is not really widespread. My guess is that a lot of drivers were not aware of this at the moment of inscription, even though it was stated on the dedicated euroindoorrace.com website

Is there any data on the tire ?

What compound works best (Bleu or Purple) and how long do they last ?

And will they be available at the race ?

Only just noticed this, if anyone has run these tyres what is the feedback. As Janus says, how long do they last and which compound do we require? Also what tyre for 2wd front?

A few of us are holding fire on this event now till we get some info..

Thanks

The 6Mik tire rule was added later, before the only reference for rules was FBA rules ( which means Schumacher Spike 2 )

For 6mik tires, blue compound is the best (purple is too hard)

According to the 6mik website the indoor compounds are still under development???

In the belgian distributor list I noticed this email adres: postmaster@mikovic.com. Now is mister Mikovic always at the EIR, and I assume he will probably carry a large stock of tires for sale

I don't want to be rude and I appreciate all the people that put such an event together and respect their efforts (a lot), but I still don't think this was a good idea. I know from a lot of people they were not aware of this...

I think it's time for some extra info about this particular race and these tires, don't you?

- Is the MiniSpike2 going to be forbidden at this race? Yes or No?

- Was this "exotic, not widely distributed" control tire rule added before or after the inscriptions?

The EIR race has always been a very well organized event, which attacts lots of (inter)national racers from all over Europe. I bet my (inscription)money on it, that a fair amount of racers will just pass on it, because of the tires... at least I will.

It would be a shame the minispikes2 would be forbidden, as I mainly participate this race as a training for belgian/dutch championship.
When the race is fully booked, and it's 6mik only, I will consider the leave my place to somebody else.

I have the same feeling on this tyre as you guys.

2 spots will be free if we can't use the minispike2.

Though I cant comment on tyres choice for this race, the 6MIK crunch is be becoming more widespread.

We have a small sample batch leaving this week from 6MIK which a few UK guys will lbe testing (Both Purple and Blue) with a view to us carrying them in the UK and making available through the usual stockists for the EIR and for general use.

I am also disappointed about tires.

Agree to have it highlighted somehow in advance as the really significant change in EIR rules. I had almost finished my order of shumacher tires for EIR and luckily was able to cancel the order after occasionaly noticed 6MIK requirement at this forum.

How much overhang do these tires have? I mean, how much do they protrude from the sidewalls of the rim?
I'm worried about the width of my car with those tires mounted.
