Exclamation Midlands Astro Masters 2011/2012 - Dates and Info

Hi Guys,

The 2011/12 dates for the ever popular midlands astro masters series have now been finalised. The series is open to all abilities and regions and accomodates 2wd and 4wd electric buggies as well as SC trucks (numbers permitting, should there be a minimum of 6 entered).

This year we have an 8 round series, dates and venues for each event are as follows:

Coventry
23rd Oct
27th Nov
26th Feb
18th Mar

Kidderminster
2nd Oct
20th Nov
19th Feb
25th Mar

Entry method: You enter each event via the club reps directly, via email, with all necessary details of:- name, class, frequencies, BRCA no. and ability grade (1- novice, up to 10- expert). Payment given on the day - £5 per class.

Contact details available on www.brca-midwest.co.uk.

Scoring: 4 from 8 - best 2 scores from EACH venue to count towards overall series standings.

Out of courtesy, please enter each event within reasonable notice, I.E. at least 4 days before the event. There will be an entry cap in place for the events as with the winter daylight hours, we cannot accomodate a large number of heats- 80 entries is an absolute maximum for each event across the 2 classes of 2wd and 4wd.

Booking in will open at about 8.30am at each event and there will be an open practice session for about 45mins at each event before qualifying begins by 10am. 4 rounds of qualifying and single leg finals for all.

There is no control tyre for any MAM events, however BB green minispikes work well at each track.

Thanks a lot, hope to see you there!

Tom

How many pairs are likely to be needed to run at all dates?

Any recommendations for front tyres for a 2wd?

That all depends on your driving and if its wet and dry etc. Shumacher slim green mini spikes will be the best tyre for 2wd front. I would say that you would get 2 meetings out of a pair of Ballistics, but like i said, it all depends on how many wet and dry meetings we get.

Exclamation TRANSPONDERS

Ladies and Gents.........

To enter the meetings we are going to have to ask that you must have your own personal transponders. Kidderminster do not have any handouts and Coventry will be sending there stock back to AMB due to faults and battery's.

So..... the bottom line is that we need a personal transponder number included in your entry.

The MaM series are a 1 day per meeting type of event event. There is around 30mins open practice from around 8/8:30ish on the day of the event only then 4 rounds of qualifying (round-by-round format used) then single finals for all.

I hope that helps.

90% of the field will also be on BB greens all round so you spot on there, the foams you use in them are a personal preference thing.

Use of a generator is fine so long as your careful with it's placement (i.e. directing exhausts away from the pitting area and using the longest lead you can etc.)

What car(s) are you running? We are a friendly lot and I am sure somebody with the same car will give you a good starting setup to work from.

See you there
