Default Transmitter as game controller?

This question popped up in my head a while back when I saw those USB connectors that VRC (and some aftermarket brands) sell to make your transmitter/receiver into a game controller for VRC Pro... I don't use VRC Pro (they don't have buggies yet ), but I think it would be pretty cool if I could use my transmitter for other games.

So that's pretty much my question... Has anyone succesfully used their transmitter on other Racing games as well?

Yes, you can use those vrc usb as game controller. but you are pretty limited. throttle/brake act like up/down on keyboard, steering is left/right on keyboard but there is no buttons to config from transmitter.

But it is fun in driving games... once you set the controller.

i used to run toca3 with vrc so i could use my ko mars, it worked well but got fed up with charging all the time
in the menu it just apeared as another joypad\ usb device,i think it depends on the game itself whether it works or not
as above post, you only get throttle and steering

Thanks for your quick replies lads I can imagine I really need to make a switch from AA batteries to a LiPo battery if I'll use my transmitter for gaming, but I'm ok with charging it regularly.

So Dombrasky, in TOCA 3 the controls were not 'on-off' like with a keyboard? And were you using the official VRC connector or another one?

And vrooom, on what game(s) did you try your controller on? And could you also tell me what brand your connector is?

yep proper vrc connector on an old 40meg reciever, the controls were not on off like a keyboard
used it most nights thinking im gonna be real good with all this practice, online against a few mates
after about 18 months it didnt make me brilliant, but it helped me be familiar with the transmitter especially how i held it
