Stub axles yes. Drive shafts, haven't seen any problems.

I had one snap. I was "landed on" by another racer and one of the drive shafts sheared off at the point where the pin goes through to hold the hex in place. This is the weakest spot I suppose.

Yes. That will be the stub axle that attaches to the driveshaft to for the complete cvd.
So the stub axle broke. I'm just going to fit some different stub axles to mine, haven't got around to it yet. Fairly sure they'll fit but will post when I'm 100% sure. |

That part I don't have a problem with mine was the dog bone end that goes into the out drive. I spoke to cml and they did replace it but just the one, I however have modified the back to take a set of Ansmann drive shafts but have to use durango wheels. The Ansmann ones are twice as thick as the Hoban ones

I did one a few weeks ago and CML replaced it and the service and comms where very good.
I have since used a spare set of schu svr(65.5mm) driveshafts and butchered the dog end to fit in the hobao outdrive. ran them on Easter sunday and all go so far. album of pictures of the svr driveshafts http://s266.photobucket.com/user/sly...20schu%20drive

Yeah, sorry I should have said stub axle. I was treating it as drive shaft as they come pre-assembled.

the stub axle part is officially pants
tryed mine first time today, landed one jump on all 4 wheels and it snapped. dont losi ones fit, pointless getting more hobao ones.

I'm now using the Tamiya TRF501 rear stub axles on mine. I haven't snapped a Hobao one though it's just a precautionary measure.
You can get either the full CVD or just the stub axle. They look a good fit. |

I had the same problem and snapped a dog bone
I decided to replace then with Losi 22 one's, but the pin that goes through at the stub axle end is slightly smaller on the losi. So rather than modify the new dog bones I just bought the losi stub axles as well, and they fit a treat. Had to buy some losi drive pins too to fit the hex's on. |
