Default Futaba 3vc issues help needed.

All,

I have a futaba 3vc which I have just bought a Orange futaba module which is DSM2 compatible to go with the orange DSM2 receiver I have tried to bind as per user manual but it will not bind any ideas?, now I have put my original futaba 2.4 module (pk-fsm2.4G) back into the hand set and now it will not stay bound to my receivers, I have read/found out that the receiver is seeing the signals but ID not correct. is there any way I can solve this. Or get the orange module and receiver to talk.

Kind regards
James

Hi Jimbo.

Cant answer the question about your futaba module but i do know that the orange module is an air module and not a land module so it wont work with the dsm2 (GR300) receivers.

Clutching at straws you didnt have to change the settings on your handset from or to PPM from the other type of modulation did you?

Hi Jimbo,

I presume you got your answer?

if not:-
The module is air
Receiver is ground

So not compatable, your not the first to do this, in fact i have the same upstairs, only good thing is the receivers are compatable with my spektrum tranny

Can i ask if your futaba module is ok why did you want to change to the orange equipment? was it for the cheap receivers?

Shiny,

Yeh got the answer thanks, was looking at changing due to room in the cars I have, and the receivers from orange seem to be smaller than the standard futaba receiver and thought DSM2 would be the way to go and price, as I had some receivers kicking about not being used from the past. It would not of been an issue but since putting the orange module in the back of the 3vc my futaba will not stay bound. It will see and bind the first time and even if the Tx is switched off and on again it will stay bound , but as soon as the Rx is powered off and on again it looses the bind and after looking on the net the light sequence from the Rx relates to an Id lost issue but cannot find a way to re-Id the module. Now I have tried the receivers with a mates handset and no issues at all so a bit stumped. Either I have popped something on the RF board when I put the orange module in or something else at a loss one big headache The 3vc is set to ppm
Kind Regards
James

Default futaba 3vc

I bought a 3vcs and tried the Orange module and receivers thinking the same as you. But I did some digging and the futaba 3vc/vcs don't work with the Orange modules, I bought mine new from hobby king and ended up sending them back and getting a refund. I bought a futaba fast module from japan and bought frysky 4 channel receivers at £25 each and are not that big. I fellow racer at our club has a 3vcs and had trouble with it and ended up buying a hitech module for £38 aand the receivers were only around £28 and are around the same size as the orange receivers. Hope this helps.

Ditto. Can't tell the difference between the FRSky and Futaba receivers. The FRSky ones take quite a beating from me and no problems after five years use. They are not waterproof! HTH
