Default Why's my motor sticking??

Hi can anyone help? got an old Spashett 11 double that for some reason has decided that it needs a push to get going.

Basically from a standing start nothing happens when you hit the throttle. Give the car a nudge or just turn the shaft and away it goes no problem. Can come off the throttle and as long as the revs dont stop altogether its fine when you get on the throttle again. Let it come to stop though and it wont start again.

Sorry if that sounds a bit confusing. Any ideas?? Brushes look fine.

I would think it would need a skim nad new brushes as well as motors that need a skim esc need a nudge to get the going sometimes.

Sticky Brush, deffo. Clean with motor spray, clean out the crap and just tug the brushes a few times to loosen em up, shud be fine.

What are you going on about . Are you telling me that if my car don't want to go of the start line i should take my body off and give the speedo a little nudge . Take the motor apart and give it a good clean. I found this when i was using the V2 motors. Also give the EDGE brush a try as this has a flat profile on one side to allow some of the dirt to pass out.

Cheers all thanks for that. I'll give it a clean and check the brushes again, hopefully it'll be fine for the weekend.

Thanks again.

he isnt actualy, motors that you have to nudge or push to get going quiet often need a good skim and or new brushes, which usually involves cleaning out as well,so what he says is right just he didnt explain it that well,

rubbish carl.
with a v2 motor 99% off the time the problem is due to a build up of dirt/muck/brush-residue in the tube's thus stopping the brush from making proper contact with the comm, nothing what so ever to do with it needing a skim, in fact the current batch especially the spashett's with enduro sprint brushes work fine even when the comm is near black.

we know that sticky brushes is usually the main cause but, depends how long its been run before this happened also, and if ya wanna see one working / not/ that way I'm sure i can arrange it lol just run it for weeks without a skim

Once Carl and Chris stop bickering you may also want to check the internal pcb board, and the capacitors mounted to it, to make sure there is no visable sign of damage, as this will cause you problems from a standing start. ie: stuttering off the line or needing a bit of a shove to get it going.
