Chadderton Raceway..?

Has the Chadderton series been taken over by someone else..? A new "club" thread has been set up...

Damian and Steve are getting involved with the entries and keeping the listing up to date, taking the onus away from me having to deal with them so it is easier for it to be on on a separate site.

It will, however, be on the AGM agenda as the distance is such that it is often difficult for members to travel on Saturday to build the track and also Sunday to race so we are reliant on those who live nearer and sometimes there are only a few who can make it (majority of whom are not Batley members).

As we are all aware, it is time consuming to build a big track and put up a very heavy, large rostrum with a handful of people so a few individuals have got involved in dealing with the events.

They are also going to post results etc.

Sounds a good idea.. I totally agree that it is a long way from Batley..! After all, I believe it was originally a Bury Metro event..? As they seem to be thriving, perhaps it should revert to them...save Dianne driving to Manchester before dawn..!
As an alternative, perhaps Batley should run a similar Winter points series..? at Batley..for Yorkshire drivers !

When Batley lost the Batley Sports Centre hall due to the resurfacing of the main hall floor, we were without an indoor venue - we were approached by a few drivers to see whether we would be interested in running a series and as we had no other indoor meetings, it was worth doing.

We have since considered running a similar series at the club but getting a room to hold a full day meeting once a month is difficult as Whitcliffe has other bookings and because the 'netball' is a regular booking until 1 pm most Sundays, the room is not available until after they have finished.
