I recently TQ'd and won at Jarrow with a CAT 2000 EC (laydown shocks, with 5.5 brushless, against very capable BJ4s, XX4s, TRF501X, D4, B44s, Pred X11, and CAT SX! etc. I agree, still very capable, spares availability is one reason I dont run it more often.

A Cat 2000 EC is a regular at our club, still finishes in the front end of the A final against 501's and the occasional zx-5.

I have no idea where I heard that but for some reason that rings a bell. There was something a while back about reselling the EC as a budget car, It might of been on here or from my LHS.

V.nice, I had one of those back in the day, I must say the EC was my prefered car when it came out, I seemed to do well with the laydown suspension.

pic from years ago..

lousy photo unfortunately due to it being a screengrab from some old camcorder footage i have

how bizarre i came on to see if i could find some help with setups for my cat 2000 cos i've just finished getting it ready so i can give it a go at the weekend up at the WRS in ipswich. I've only got a 19 in there at the moment but i reckon it'll still be quick enough for the touring car track that's being used for the series. The only real difference with my cat is that i've got a set of losi shocks on it and that's only because it met with a bush out when i was testing everything worked and managed to bend a shock pic.

IRL22203 I used, made by IR, got them from farnell (not cheap but got work to pay for them) If you look at this thread
http://forum.teamtekin.com/phpbb3/vi...hp?f=23&t=1614
then all the info is there on what to expect... however the thermal shut down was a problem to start with bit I did sort it... I have pictures of the whole operation so PM me if you need a guide. not for the faint hearted this job . I'm a professional electronic design engineer and I found it tricky. Best of luck
